Around here, we love to find things to celebrate. With that, Happy Birthday to us!
On Sunday, we turn 127 years old.
Mackinac Island’s original fudge shop, which opened its doors in 1887, continues its longtime tradition handcrafting all-natural fudge the same way original Murdick’s family members did more than a century ago.
Today, we continue to serve up fresh, gluten-free fudge, artfully handmade each day in our two Mackinac Island white clapboard fudge shops on Main Street, and in our Mackinaw City/Mackinaw Crossings and downtown St. Ignace locations. Using traditional marble tables and big copper pots, our family is thrilled to still be satisfying your sweet tooth.
We’re amazed — and so grateful — that our fudge fans come from every state in the nation and from many countries, too!
Speaking of fudge fans, Monica Drake Carter, from Southeast Michigan, imagined a new “birthday flavor combination” we couldn’t resist. So it’s now on our menu and ready for you to try. This “Michigan Honey Butter” birthday flavor marries tasty brown sugar and honey with butter and not much more into Pure Michigan bliss. It was unveiled on National Fudge Day this past June 16.
Try it soon — this flavor will only be made during this our 127th summer.
To celebrate our 127th birthday, the first 127 guests visiting our two Main Street Mackinac Island shops this Sunday (July 27) will receive a complimentary slice of Michigan Honey Butter fudge.
And for those Original Murdick’s Fudge fans who cannot make it to Mackinac Island this Sunday, we are providing FREE SHIPPING on all ONLINE orders placed through July 31. Use promo code CELEBRATE at checkout.
Stop in and wish us a Happy Birthday! We’d love to read your birthday message or fudge tale on our Facebook page as well.
