The Mackinac Island battle from the War of 1812 happened on August 4, 1814. On Monday, August 4 at 3 p.m., actors will recreate the battle using authentic weapons, formations, uniforms and positioning on the exact spot the battle happened.
Hundreds of reenactors and visitors will gather to commemorate the battle. The entire weekend is full of events to celebrate, including tours of the Brig Niagra, a recreation of a ship used in the battle. It will be at the Arnold Line dock.

The reenactment will take place on the actual Mackinac Island battlefield where British and Native American forces defended their position against the American attempt to recapture the island.
The narrated reenactment of the battle at what is now known as Wawashkamo Golf Club is free and open to the public.
Wawashkamo is Michigan’s most-historic course situated in the middle of Mackinac Island.
